Media Studies Minor

The 18-hour minor in media studies provides students with an in-depth study of film, television, music and digital media. The minor requires 9 hours of foundations course work and 9 hours of MDIA course work at the 3000 level and above. Students must talk with their advisors to identify appropriate area course work and ensure that they meet the prerequisites for each course. Students must earn at least a 2.0 in the minor to successfully complete it. The minor is open to all undergraduate students.

For more information, see the AU Bulletin Media Studies Minor.

NOTE:  Students should meet with the minor’s advisor prior to declaring. Students should declare the minor as early as possible. Those declaring the minor at the end of their junior year or during their senior year may be unable to complete the minor’s coursework prior to graduation. Students must speak with their advisors to identify appropriate area course work and ensure that they meet the prerequisites for each course.
