All Auburn students apply for scholarships through the Auburn University Scholarship Opportunity Manager site (AUSOM). The deadline to apply is February 1 each year. You will be considered for every scholarship for which you qualify at the University, College and School level.

AUSOM has many useful online features and benefits. Students can easily search, review requirements, apply and accept awards for available scholarship opportunities. Interested students apply for all institutional scholarships using this online application. Students are only required to complete the AUSOM application once each academic year.

The James W. Woodruff Jr. Endowment Fund for Scholarships in Communication

This endowment was established by the Board of Directors of the J.W. and E.I. Woodruff Foundation of Columbus, Ga., for the purpose of providing a scholarship for students in the School of Communication and Journalism in memory of Mr. James W.  Woodruff. Like his father before him, James W. Woodruff Jr., was an innovator. His major contribution to the Chattahoochee River Valley was the introduction of television to Columbus, Ga., with his station WRBL-TV.

James W. Woodruff Jr. Scholars in Communication will have the opportunity to study radio, television and film production in a school with alumni ties to Time-Warner, the Showtime Network/Viacom, CBS, ABC and other companies.

The Woodruff Scholarship requires a 3.4 or higher GPA. Preference goes to Media Studies majors from the Chattahoochee Valley area, but all COMM, MDIA or PRCM majors are encouraged to apply.
