Fereshteh Rostampour is the Full Professor of Scenic, Projection, and Lighting Design at Auburn University. She worked as a Free-lance designer for numerous plays, dance, opera, and film internationally. She has received prestigious awards and presentedher work at international venues in the Czech Republic, Wales, Korea, Sweden, Austria, Germany, China, and Taiwan.
Fereshteh’s work had been juried and selected for the World Stage Design 2009 in Seoul, Korea, 2013 in Cardiff, Wales and 2017 in Taipei, Taiwan. Her design for Matrix was chosen as one of the six “Best Overall Production Designs in US” in 2015 and selected for Exhibition in the Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design & Space. In 2013 her designs for Betrayal, Evolution, and Matrix were nominated for the best Interactive & New Media Design at the World Stage Design 2013.
Her national presence includes designs for Kansas City Repertory Theatre, Silver Center for the Arts, Plymouth NH, Miller Performing Arts Center, Alfred, NY, and she is the seven times winner of the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festivalfor Excellence in Design. She is an associate member of OISTAT, served on the curation committee for Prague Quadrennial ofPerformance Design & Space 2019, and on the advisory board of Broadway Educators.
Fereshteh is honored to be one of the eight designers chosen from the six continents to curate World Stage Design 2022!
