Course Transfer/Substitution and Thesis Exemption Form

Plan of Study Worksheets

  • PhD programs (same worksheet for integrated MS and PhD)

    • Every student admitted to a PhD program will do a PhD Plan of Study worksheet. Students not officially exempted from the Thesis requirement will do the worksheet twice - once for the MS degree and once for the PhD degree.

    • Directions for Completing Plan of Study Worksheet: links to each program's worksheets are at the end of the directions.

    • Non-Thesis MS Programs

      • Applied Behavior Analysis - the Graduate Coordinator, Thane Bryant, prepares and submits this on your behalf during your fourth semester in the program.

      • Industrial-Organizational Psychology terminal MS (non-thesis) - the Graduate Coordinator, Thane Bryant, will send you a worksheet for this during the semester preceding your final semester in the program.  

    Thesis Proposal Form

    • Prior to your proposal meeting, get the form from the Graduate Coordinator,Thane Bryant, or get the form online here and return the signed form to Thane after the meeting. 

    Graduate School Application to Graduate with the MS (aka "Graduation Check" request)

    • Go to http://graduate.auburn.edu/current-students/ and click on “Graduation Application and Approval Process” and follow directions. You must do this before the last day of the semester PRIOR TO the semester in which you will graduate. You must also do it before you submit your Form 9 Report on the Master's Thesis Final Exam to the Graduate School (below). See here for deadlines for graduating each semester. 

    Graduate School Documentation of Master's Thesis Defense

    • Starting Fall 2020, this will be done via the new “Request for Report of Master’s Thesis Final Exam" workflow process. See "Master's Thesis Guidelines" steps 9 through 12.

    Graduate School Application to Schedule General Oral Exam

    • Officially schedule the oral component of your General Doctoral Exam by initiating the “Request for the Report on the General Oral Exam” workflow, which you can access here [do NOT initiate the workflow before your doctoral Plan of Study has been submitted and approved or before you have received the results of your written exam and your committee has agreed on the date and time on which your Oral Exam will occur]

    Dissertation Proposal Form

    Graduate School Application to Graduate with the PhD (aka "Graduation Check" request)

    • The Dissertation Approval process - from First Submission Approval through Final Approval - is documented via a workflow process. See "Dissertation Guidelines" steps 7 through 14.
