Our Program
The Department of Psychological Sciences at Auburn University offers an on-campus, non-thesis Master of Science degree in Applied Behavior Analysis with financial assistance. The program is comprised of 5 full-time faculty in diverse areas of research and practice. Degree requirements focus on integrating foundational and specialized coursework with supervised practical experience. This program provides all coursework and supervised experience for BACB eligibility, and, as such, involves an on-campus option only. This full-time program requires six consecutive semesters (24 months) of coursework and intensive practicum training across various sites within the Alabama community including:
- On-campus ABA clinic (Early Intervention Autism/DD, Caregiver and Staff Training)
- Home-based services (Intervention, Caregiver Training)
- Public school district (Consultation, Intervention, Staff Training)
- Inclusive pre-school (Intervention, Staff Training
- Foster Care System Services (Alabama Psychiatric Medication Review Team project in collaboration with the Alabama Department of Human Resources)
- Juvenile Corrections Facility (ABSOP project, Behavioral Intervention, Academic Instruction, Staff Training, Transitions, Vocational Training, Values-based Personal Development
Our Mission
The Auburn University Applied Behavior Analysis program engages in socially meaningful research and clinical application, collaboration, dissemination of behavioral science, and comprehensive training of future behavior analyst practitioners and leaders of our field.
Our Objectives
- To provide students with exceptional graduate coursework to promote a thorough understanding of the theoretical underpinnings, basic principles, and applications of behavior analysis
- To provide a myriad of meaningful and diverse clinical internship experiences and supervision leading to a comprehensive understanding of various practice areas
- To contribute to the field of behavior analysis by fully preparing students through practical and research experience to become Board Certified Behavior Analysts
- To contribute to the field of behavior analysis by conducting and providing research experience for a variety of social and behavioral problems and preparing students to continue this work through doctoral training.
Program Outcomes
Of students enrolled in the program over the past five years,
- ALL have graduated within two years
- ALL have passed the BACB certification exam
Over the past five years, the program has received an average of 47 applications per year and accepted an average of 6 students per year.

The Association for Behavior Analysis International® has approved this course sequence. A Verified Course Sequence (VCS) is a set of courses that has been verified by the Association for Behavior Analysis International as meeting specific coursework requirements, content hours, and faculty standards.
