Scholarships, Grants and Loans

There are very few scholarships and grants available for graduate students at Auburn University. Information on available scholarships can be accessed the Auburn University, University Scholarships webpage.

If you are interested in applying for financial aid, visit or call the Auburn University Office of Financial Aid. All questions regarding financial aid should be directed to one of the counselors in Mary Martin Hall.

Graduate Assistantships

The MPA program offers a limited number of graduate assistantships each semester. These are awarded on the basis of academic performance and vary each semester based on the pool of applicants. Priority consideration is given to qualified applicants who meet the deadlines listed on the admission page.

To be considered for a graduate assistantship, please submit the following as one document with your application:

  • A cover letter highlighting your skills
  • A resume
  • A statement of claim (need-based or merit-based). The statement of claim should clearly communicate if you would like funding consideration based on academic merit, financial need or both.
