Which class has been your favorite at Auburn so far?
My favorite class at Auburn University was Lifespan Human Development in Family Context. I enjoyed learning how development shapes how we interact with one another. This class is what inspired me to pursue a minor in HDFS.
What is the best technology based resource at Auburn?
My favorite technology resource at Auburn is called "DIBS." It's where you can reserve a study room at the library. These rooms come with markers, white boards, a TV, and occasionally a great view of the stadium while you're preparing for a test. These rooms are a great place to study when you need a quiet environment free from distractions. DIBS allows you to reserve a room online ahead of time, this way only you can access that room with your tiger card allowing for privacy.
What do you wish someone had told you before you started as a student at Auburn?
I would encourage students to get involved in social events like "welcome week," and "get rec'd," that happen at the beginning of the fall semester. It's one of the best ways to meet new people and join clubs.
Where are your favorite places to study on campus?
My favorite places to study on campus are the study rooms in Mell, where I can mirror my laptop on the TVs provided. My second favorite place to study is the quiet zone in the Student Center, where you're provided with individual desks that block your view of others allowing plenty of privacy.
How have you been able to maintain your social and academic involvement during the COVID pandemic?
I was able to continue going to club events while attending my intramural ultimate frisbee team, and the Auburn chapter of the NSSLA club. These club events were continued throughout COVID thanks to social distancing and masks. I was able to attend class in person or through Zoom with little impact on my education. I enjoyed hanging out with my friends on Samford Lawn throughout COVID.
