The AU Symphony Orchestra is available to both music and non-music majors. The ensemble rehearses on Mondays from 3:30-4:45pm in the Goodwin Music Building. Auditions will be held in August during the first week of classes via video submission. The AU Chamber Orchestra is available to to both music and non-music majors. Acting as the core string section of the Symphony Orchestra, the Chamber Orchestra also meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:30 pm-1:45 pm in the Goodwin Music Building. Audition Requirements – Orchestral Strings
- Two Major & Melodic minor scales of your choice in 3-octaves
- A prepared piece of your choice that best demonstrates your musical/technical ability
- Possible sight-reading
