Giving to the Giving Garden
Giving to the Giving Garden

Behind the old jail and its rusted-out cells, new life sprouts every year in Elba. The community's Giving Garden is a plot of land where volunteers can help grow cucumbers, tomatoes, bell peppers, and other produce that is then donated to the Elba Community Food Bank.

Thanks for summer of learning in Elba
Thanks for summer of learning in Elba

It is hard to put into words what my time here in Elba this summer means to me. I have made friendships that will last a lifetime and memories that will never be forgotten. I’m so lucky to have gotten the opportunity to call this city my home for the past ten weeks, and I will miss it dearly.

Throughout this summer, I enjoyed many opportunities to experience some of the fun aspects of living in Elba. The clubs, organizations, food and the events held in the city have been great. They bring people of the community together. Of course, the Pea River is one of the town’s main attractions.

The Elba Church of Christ has a great impact on the members of its community. From worship services every Sunday to providing food for those in need, this Elba church is a great place to get involved. Every Monday and Thursday, the church hosts food banks.
