About Me

(Millian) Giang Lien Pham is a first-generation college graduate and a cycle breaker. After trampling around the muddy rice fields of Vietnam, she received her Master of Fine Arts in sculpture from the University of Florida in Gainesville and her Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting and printmaking from the University of Tulsa in Oklahoma. Prior to coming to Auburn University, Professor Pham taught at the University of Alabama, Santa Fe College, and the University of Florida. She brings knowledge and expertise in a wide range of different mediums and disciplines. Her current research compares the effects of structural and systemic oppression on the body and spirit through drawing, sculpture, installation, and performance. Her works have been exhibited internationally in Korea, Pakistan, and Canada and across the United States. She was a fellow for the Santa Fe Art Institute, Hambidge Artist Residency, I-Park Artist Enclave, and ACRE (Artist Cooperative Residency and Exhibitions program).

She is represented by STRATA Gallery in Santa Fe, NM.
