About Dallin Bailey Assistant Professor
Dr. Bailey came to the field of speech-language pathology via an initial interest in linguistics. His research efforts primarily involve developing and studying the clinical outcomes for aphasia and apraxia of speech treatments. He is also interested in speech motor learning, including studying how mental rehearsal may impact speech, and in the development of software tools to assist speech-language pathologists (SLPs) and SLP training programs with phonetic transcription of speech production. Event cognition, embodied cognition, and speech entrainment are some areas that inform his research.
Major Research areas
Development and testing of treatments and treatment outcome measures for aphasia and apraxia of speech; kinematic measurement of speech motor learning; abstract word processing; verb processing; single-subject research design
Classes Taught
CMDS 3400 Anatomy and Physiology of Speech
