Katie Lamar Jackson is a book author, journalist, editor, photographer, and communications specialist with more than 30 years of experience working with a diverse array of organizations including CNN, Ortho Books, the Southern Progress Corporation, the Ladies Professional Golf Association, and the US Department of Agriculture as well as numerous newspapers, magazines, web developers, private and public agencies, and nonprofits.
Jackson has authored or co-authored five books, the most recent of which is A Tiger among Us: A Story of Valor in Vietnam’s A Shau Valley, which she co-wrote with Vietnam veteran and Medal of Honor recipient Bennie Adkins. The book was released in May 2018 by Da Capo Press.
A native of Alabama, Jackson holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Auburn University where she also served for more than 25 years as editor and director of the university’s Agricultural Communications and Marketing division. She lives in Opelika, Alabama, with her husband, Kevin, and near their four children and five (at last count) grandchildren.
