Bachelor of Arts in International Studies
The Bachelor of Arts in International Studies is for students who want to be well versed in the affairs of diverse parts of the world. Graduates will have an in-depth understanding of cultures, languages and political economies of a particular region of their choice. Students who earn the BA in International Studies will be equipped for internationally-focused careers, having attained the ability to communicate, collaborate, and work across national, cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic boundaries.
The international studies degree requires the following:
- Foreign language proficiency by completing 8 credit hours beyone the college's general requirement for BA degrees. This is equivalent to at least 4 semesters of language study.
- Supervised internship.
- Must complete 18 credit hours in one regional concentration (Asia, Europe, Latin America or Middle East/Africa.
- At least 6 credits must be taken overseas through an approved study abroad program.
