Raj Mohan





Raj Mohan is currently Professor of Sociology at Auburn University . He joined the AU faculty in 1973 and was promoted to the rank of Professor in 1984. In 1991 he was nominated and appointed Adjunct Professor of Sociology at the University of Joensuu. He has visited the universities of Calgary in Canada (Summer 1985) and Joensuu in Finland (1990, and Fall 1992). He served as Director of Graduate Studies in Sociology from 1974-1984. He has served on University Tenure and Promotion Committee, Pre-medical, Pre-dentistry Advisory Committee (since 1981), Technical Review Panel, Department of Psychology (since 1981) and several other university and College of Liberal Arts committees. He was chosen as Teacher of the Year (19989-90) by Premedical Students in the College of Science and Mathematics.

He holds membership in the American Sociological Association, Southern Sociological Society, Indian Sociological Society, and Institute International de Sociologie (Elected Full Member, 1975). He is listed in Personalities in America (1978-79), American Men and Women of Science, 12 th ed., Vol 2, 1973, International Biographical Center, Cambridge, England and Who's Who in the South and Southwest, 19 th ed., 1984, among others.

He is editor of the International Journal of Contemporary Sociology since 1970 and serves on the editorial board and/or as referee of Journal of National Development, Quarterly Journal of Ideology, International Review of Modern Sociology, Free Inquiry in Creative Sociology, and Indian Journal of Social Research, among others.
