Nicholas Pagnucco





Dr. Pagnucco completed his doctorate in sociology from the University at Albany SUNY in 2012, and he received both a bachelors and masters in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University.  He has taught numerous sociology courses, including Introduction to Sociology, Sociological Theory, Organizations in Society, Sociology of Education and Cultural Sociology.  

Dr. Pagnucco’s research focuses on the sociology of higher education as well as cultural, organizational, and economic sociology.  He is particularly interested in the ways justifications and conceptions of academic worth are institutionalized and influence the structure of the academic field.  Dr. Pagnucco’s research involves a qualitative comparative study of adjunct work and their employing colleges’ maintenance of legitimacy.
