Department of Psychology

Research

True to its designation as a scientist-practitioner program, research is an integral part of the Auburn's Clinical Psychology Program’s training model. As such, all students are matched with a major professor, who provides intensive mentorship in research design, statistical analysis, and presenting findings at conferences and in professional publications. Each major professor directs an active research laboratory in his/her area of expertise. A number of the labs in which clinical students conduct research are equipped with videotaping capabilities, interactive computer stations, psychophysiological apparatuses, setups for analog behavioral research, and sophisticated statistical software (e.g., Mplus).

In addition to their theses and dissertations, our students are frequently involved in additional research projects during their time at Auburn. Below, we provide a sampling of recent research that has been published and presented by our students and faculty. As can be inferred from the citations, collaboration between Clinical faculty members is relatively common. This provides a rich opportunity for students whose interests overlap with more than one faculty member.
