POLI 6390 NGOS AND INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT (3) LEC. 3. This course combines theories of development, and academic and practitioner research on development, with practical strategies and approaches that NGO development practitioners have, can or should take to improve the likelihood of development in the future. It is intended to provide an overview of past and current approaches to development, which will help students develop knowledge and skills needed for a career in international development. The following questions form the basis of inquiry for this course: When we say “development” in the international context, what do we mean? How can we measure development?
