About Me

Eric Marcus works chiefly in the philosophy of mind and action, but also has active research interests in epistemology, metaphysics, aesthetics and the philosophy of language. He is the author of numerous articles—most recently, “Reconciling Practical Knowledge with Self-Deception” in Mind and “Aesthetic Rationality” (with Keren Gorodeisky) in The Journal of Philosophy—and a pair of books: Rational Causation (Harvard University Press) and Belief, Inference and the Self-Conscious Mind (forthcoming from Oxford University Press). Marcus and Keren Gorodeisky were selected as the winners of the second Arthur Danto/American Society for Aesthetics Prize for their paper “Aesthetic Rationality."
