James Shelley works mainly in aesthetics. His publications include "The Concept of the Aesthetic" and "18th Century British Aesthetics " (both in The Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy), "The Problem of Non-Perceptual Art" and "Aesthetics and the World at Large" (both in The British Journal of Aesthetics), and "Against Value Empiricism in Aesthetics" (in The Australasian Journal of Philosophy).
