Morganne Svoboda, a junior majoring in exercise science with a minor in dance, was chosen to perform at the Alabama Dance Festival’s New Works Concert in Birmingham, Alabama, in January. Her piece, Ataraxia, was a solo she originally choreographed and performed during Fractals, the 2023-24 annual dance concert hosted by the Auburn University Department of Theatre and Dance.

The Alabama Dance Festival is one of the largest gatherings of dancers and dance enthusiasts in the Southeast. The festival includes master classes with world-renowned teachers, audition opportunities, teacher training, networking, performances by regional dance groups, and a guest company. Work is presented in a range of styles and traditions by schools, studios, companies and choreographers in the annual New Works Concert and Alabama Dance Festival Showcase.
