About Me

Nicole Agostino joined the Department of Music in spring of 2018. Her role has included collaborative piano with the most recent addition of teaching piano skills and functional piano courses. Prior to AU, she served on faculties at Southern Union State Community College and at the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in Michigan.

As an active soloist and chamber musician, Agostino has performed recitals at Columbus State University and Georgia State University, and she is a regular performer at the Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art. She has toured as a guest artist giving recitals and lectures across the Southeast on Bach’s Goldberg Variations and has also recorded the work.

Agostino keeps a busy schedule as an adjudicator and conference presenter. She serves regularly as a judge for music competitions throughout the Southeast, and is an active member of the Alabama Music Teachers Association. Most recently, she served as president of Auburn-Opelika Music Teachers Association for four years.

Agostino holds a Bachelor of Music and Master of Music in piano performance from the renowned Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where she studied with Karen Shaw. In 2015, she completed her Doctorate of Music in piano performance from Florida State University with Read Gainsford.

In addition to her musical life, Agostino teaches and practices yoga, and is the owner of Yogafly Studio in Auburn. She teaches yoga workshops for musicians, focusing on posture and breath for injury prevention, as well as visualization for performance preparation.
