About Me
Matthew Wood is an associate professor of trombone at Auburn University. In addition to maintaining the low brass studio, he conducts the Auburn University Trombone Choir and the Auburn University Tuba/Euphonium Ensemble. In 2015, Wood was awarded a Southeastern Conference Visiting Travel Grant that was used to support a solo recital at the University of Arkansas. Other recent recital venues include the University of Central Arkansas, Texas A&M University, and Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi.
Prior to joining the Auburn faculty, Wood was an active performer, educator, and clinician in the Austin and San Antonio areas. His principal teachers are Nathaniel Brickens, professor of trombone at the University of Texas-Austin and Timothy Myers, principal trombone, St. Louis Symphony.
