About Me

Guy Harrison joined the faculty of the Department of Music and the Department of Curriculum and Teaching  as an associate professor. Prior to joining the faculty at Auburn, Harrison was a part of the music faculty at Arizona State University. Originally from Australia, he completed his doctoral degree in violin performance at Michigan State University under the direction of Walter Verdehr. He holds degrees from the University of Adelaide and Michigan State University.

Harrison is in demand as a performer and has held positions as the acting concertmaster with the Jackson Symphony Orchestra, associate concertmaster of the Lansing Symphony Orchestra and Jackson Symphony Orchestras in Michigan, and principal 2nd violin in the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra in Texas. Before moving to the United States, he performed regularly with both the Adelaide and Tasmanian Symphony Orchestras. He has also performed with the South Bend, Saginaw, Traverse, Northwest Indiana and Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestras. Harrison has toured extensively in Australia, as well as to the U.S., China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Singapore, New Caledonia, and Canada's Winterlude Festival.

He has taught in the Texas public school system and is very sought after as a violin and viola teacher and clinician.
