Ethel Illges Woodruff Scholarship
The Ethel Illges Woodruff Scholarship will be awarded to a rising senior history major who, in the opinion of the History Department Scholarship Committee, has an especially outstanding record of academic accomplishment. Preference will be given to any applicants who reside in the Chattahoochee River Valley of Alabama and Georgia.
The scholarship was established by the J. W. and E. I Woodruff Foundation in honor of Mrs. Ethel I. Woodruff of Columbus, Georgia. Mrs. Woodruff, a descendent of one of Alabama’s pioneer families, had a lifelong interest in the history of eastern Alabama, Georgia, and the Chattahoochee River Valley.
The Woodruff Scholarship will provide partial payment of the student’s tuition (up to $1500) for the current academic year at Auburn University.
