There has been some interest in the Citation Project among English faculty who attended the WAC conference in Savannah this past summer. I wanted to give everyone a short update.
Dr. Tricia Serviss was invited as a guest speaker to talk about her research with the national research study called the Citation Project at AU Montgomery. She addressed their composition program, sharing results from the research and leading them in discussions about how to revise their core composition curriculum to address the findings of the study. Dr. Serviss presented at the AUM Composition Program's Professionalization Series this Friday, 9/14 from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM.
Dr. Serviss also been invited as a guest speaker, the final speaker, at the Information Literacy Conference hosted by Georgia Southern University in Savannah, GA. She presented findings from the Citation Project, along with the co-editor of her upcoming edited collection about that same project, to college librarians from around the country. They discussed ways that librarians and composition teachers can work together to improve researched writing in core composition courses on our campuses. Dr. Serviss presented there on Saturday, 9/22 from 1:00 until 4:00 PM.
