Maiben Beard has been the outreach associate at the Caroline Marshall Draughon Center for the Arts & Humanities since 2008. She develops, implements, and manages statewide arts and humanities outreach programs and initiatives. In addition, she curates and interprets the historic 1847 Scott-Yarbrough house, known as Pebble Hill. Beard graduated from Emory University with a BA degree in art history and a minor in anthropology. She currently serves as membership secretary for the Alabama Historical Association, chair of the City of Auburn Historic Preservation Commission, and vice-chair of the Alabama National Register Review Board.
