“Kierkegaard and the Academy: A Theological Mediation”  A lecture by Dr. Stanley Hauerwas, Gilbert T. Rowe Professor Emeritus of Divinity and Law at Duke University

Professor Hauerwas will speak on the role of the Church and theology in the development of the modern university and how Soren Kierkegaard’s work on the relationship between theology and society can help us better understand the interaction between the theological and the socio-political in today's university. This lecture will be held in Langdon Hall and is sponsored by the Philosophy and Religion Workshop in the Department of Philosophy and the Auburn University Special Lectures Fund.  Free and open to the public.
