Art majors have two types of academic advisors: departmental advisors for their major and liberal arts advisors for their core curriculum.
The Art Department uses a priority registration system that requires every student to be advised by his/her art department advisor before registration begins. In addition to discussing class schedules, you can consult your advisor on a variety of concerns, including the different art majors offered by the department, the study abroad program, and internships. Your advisor has office hours posted on his/her door. Your advisor may also be able to meet with you at other times if you schedule an appointment by email.
In addition to meeting with their departmental advisors, students should meet with their CLA advisor regularly for guidance on the core curriculum and to discuss other general advising issues such as dropping a course, the grade adjustment policy, etc.
